how can I re-install the original weather channel app on my iPhone x?
I tried downloading from the app store but you get the version with commercials i would like the original back.
Thought the OP wanted the original weather app (ie. supplied by Apple, that’s the top one in image) because it also gets its data via The Weather Channel, I use the original iOS App on iPhone and the Weather Channel App on iPad - the data then matches across both devices (even the weather in Notification Center on my iMac takes it’s data from The Weather Channel feed).
But if the OP means the actual Weather Channel App (ie. third party), then yes, it’s only available in the Ad Supported version.
I’ve found the data provided by The Weather Channel feed to be very accurate for my location and because the iOS App uses same found no need to use anything different, but the OP might want a little extra info that the other one provides.
The app “weather” is not produced by The Weather Channel - it’s a separate app from another developer.
You cannot. The only version they offer in the App Store is the advertising supported version. The older versions do not exist in the App Store any more.
Almost all the free weather apps are ad supported apps.
Search for it in the App Store and redownload, the original app is called “Weather”.
You can only download whatever version is available in the App store. If Weather Channel has changed their app, that's what you get.
