What has happened to iMatch

I had transferred some music to my PC and expected to see it show up on my iPhone. Well it didn’t and after a lot of frustration, wasted time and irritation I found that iMatch seemed to have disappeared. No explanation from Apple, just it was gone! I looked on line and found some points mostly telling me to activate it through my PC and the Apple store, which I tried to do, but it still doesn’t work, and no longer appears as an option in my settings on my iPhone. Where is it? What have you done with it Apple? Why do you have to mess us around like this? Please, please keep things simple and don’t just stop things without telling anyone!

Sign out of your account from the Account menu. Sign in again. Under Edit > Preferences > General make sure that iCloud Music Library is enabled.

No they are different services although both will give you an iCloud Music Library. Signing into your Apple ID on a computer or suitable device gives you streaming or download access to all of your purchased media. iTunes Match is an annual service that gives you similar access to the music you have ripped or purchased from other services. Apple Music is a rolling monthly services that lets you add in almost anything that is in Apple's music catalogue.
