How to turn shutter sound off?

I mean the one in the camera when taking pictures is mute but when taking printscreen or like recently scanning documents in Office Lens the annoying sound is always there.

How do I turn it off?

It's not user sound setting. If you don't want the shutter sound, use the mute button on the side of the camera.

Note: If your phone came from Japan, the shutter sound, by law, can not be muted.

There is one other option, but it uses more memory. Use Live Photo, which records a 3 second video with each photo taken, but does mute the shutter sound.

Asking Apple to do anything here will get you nothing. This is a strictly user to user forum and Apple isn't here. Since your phone didn't come from Japan, you do have the choice to mute the shutter. Just use the mute button on the side of your phone. If that's not enough for you, provide feedback to Apple via this link: Feedback - iPhone - Apple

all other phone makers have let the users manage that. let me understand for once who plays fair appl-e or all others: samsung check, microsoft, check. on all phones I had I could save the screen uninterrupted by this noise. why is it so with apple?

I bought this in germany. it says designed in california (that is like saying a bmw is in bavaria designed not in germany), assembled in china and no idea if it came from japan. I understand that in japan it is prohibited to use it without sound but I do not live in japan. can I please, apple, turn that freaking noise off?
