I've got a series 9, and although it superficially seemed to play 4k I was getting artefacts.
Check Settings for video on Apple TV and try manually setting 4k with 24 fps and work up as mine did not like 60 fps - I'm not discounting an inadequate HDMI lead.
The 24 fps setting is at the bottom under 'other' or similar menu at the bottom of the main list or at least was.
Are you using a high speed HDMI cable, certified for 4K? Have you tried a different cable and port? Try testing on another TV
I don’t have another 4K tv. I tried various ports and different HDMI cables. It doesn’t seem to help.
In the video and audio settings, I only see 1080p with 60 FPS. There is the “other” section, but it doesn’t have 4K resolution as an option. So frustrating.
Were any of those cables high speed certified 4K cables? If you have a friend with a 4K tv you can test or take it to Apple
apple tv 4k would not play 4k movies to samsang 8 series tv through one connect box?? help?
