Audio Syncing in the Timeline FCPX...

Hello Group,

I am producing a corporate video, in the early stages cutting together clips from interviews and creating the timeline. I shot 2 camera angles, but I'm using audio from A camera (front) and cutting in B camera (side) I ran audio from both cameras to sync up later. I have already cut the camera A clips and added them into the timeline. My question is, is there shortcut way to sync up the clips from Camera A & B, without having to line them up in the timeline and listen to the audio and painstakingly move until they are synced, the problem is I already cut footage into clips from Camera A. I know I should have synced them up prior to starting to cut the clips in the timeline so that is probably my mistake to start.

Ok, I found a work around, the long way..so I created a compound clip from the edited clip in the timeline, then created a multi cam clip with the other camera angle B, and it worked, a LONG workaround but will work this time.

Use the multicam function.

This was written for an earlier version but the functionality is basically unchanged.

Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit confused how to use the mulitcam sync at this point because I've already trimmed and cut the clips and put them in a timeline from one camera angle, camera A (front).

The story goes this way...I had to supply the client with the rough interview clips and they chose the time code they wanted to include in the video. So I went in with Camera A (front) raw clips I had provided the client and put the clips in the timeline according the time code requested by the client. So now I have a bunch of clips in a timeline from one single camera angle (front) only, and I need to add the second camera angle so I can cut to the B camera (side) during the interviews.

The only thing I can think of at this point is to create compound clips and then sync?...not sure what to do at this point, I feel like I went too far and should have synced the clips prior to creating a timeline.
