iMovie 10 Events and Projects Folders?

I used iMovie 10 for the first time to create a video project for a friend. I always used iMovie 9 and decided to give version 10 a try. I must say it took me a while to get used to the changes between the two version, and I much prefer the control I had in version 9 than the lack of control I have in version 10.

One difference I discovered is that iMovie 10 appears to not create any files in the iMovie Events or iMovie Projects folder. I want to archive the project I created for my friend, but I could not find any files related to his project in either of these folders. I do see everything in the iMovie Library when I view its contents in the Finder. Is this where iMove 10 saves everything now? Where is the actual physical video file I created? Not the video I would upload to YouTube, but the actual file I assembled to create the project. I can't find it anywhere. Shouldn't it appear in the iMovie Projects folder?

I'm using iMovie 10.1.1 on an iMac running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.

Thanks for any assitance,

As Rich has said everything is contained within the iMovie Library. iMovie uses a data base system as opposed to files for projects and events. Only media is saved as files. When iMovie opens it retrieves the data from the database and constructs the projects and events. So you will never see project or event files outside of iMovie. You implied that you had looked inside the iMovie Library bundle/package so you saw folders for each project and event with files that iMovie uses to access the date base and construct the projects and events when iMovie opens.
