My right speaker sounds muffled.

my right speaker is muffled sounding. this goes away when I change the format on audio MIDI setup or when I plug and unplug headphones, but comes back soon after. it is also triggered by turning the volume up to maximum and then the speaker goes muffled sounding and I have to reply and unplug headphones to get it back to normal. How do I I fix this?

hey i_rina, thanks for the reply.

I tried doing both of these things, and they had the same affect as plugging and unplugging my headphones; the speakers were balanced, but were made muffled by increasing the volume to full. as well as this, I forgot to mention that my right speaker also sounds very slightly worse and very slightly more muffled than the left even when I've plugged and unplugged headphones or reset NVRAM etc.

edit: the right speaker also sounds very slightly quieter than the left.

Hello Odin_y,
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're having some trouble with the sound quality on your MacBook Pro speakers, and I have some information that may help.
In cases like this, it may help to reset your SMC (System Management Controller), which controls the different hardware systems in your Mac, and your NVRAM (PRAM) which controls some parameters like volume. Have a look at the articles below to learn how.
