Dock fails to appear until reset through System Preferences
While this is not an OS failure, it's rather annoying and occurs daily sometimes more than once. Can someone please suggest a more permanent fix to this issue described below?
-----------
My settings for the Dock in System Preferences are shown in screen capture below
When mousing over the Dock area (normally the bottom of the screen), the dock icon bar pops up and functions normally, but at times, like this morning it refuses to show it's face!
My current work-around;
1) I reset "Dock" by deselecting/selecting "Automatically hide and show the dock";
2) AND/OR have to add a second step by altering Dock position as follows;
a) Alter the Position of the Dock on screen by selecting "Left" radio button, then reselect back "Bottom"
radio button
b) Watch the large rainbow wheel (of death) spinning until things reset, which normally is under 1 min.
This works, but then malfunctioned once again within minutes forcing me to do the same reset, or when I'm just to upset to giver in to the demons controlling the dock, I use "spotlight search" to launch the application of need.
This is not fatal but rather annoying and unpredictable.
