El Capitan: AirPlay button does not appear

El Capitan: AirPlay button does not appear

On my macbook running El Capitan the AirPlay button does not appear in --> system --> screen. Which means I can not turn on the AirPlay feature. Is there a fix?

MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

If you check this thread airplay from iMac to ATV 4 doesn't work - seems looking at the firewall resolved the issue in that case.

What are you trying to airplay to?

Are they both connected to the same wireless network?

Firewall settings ok.

My MB is from 2008.

I understand that if the MB (regardless of year) runs El Cap it is possible to stream videos from Safari and quick time player. Correct?

Or maybe my MB is too old?

Hi

Yes I have. Everything is up to date. Same wifi.

I would like to airplay to ATV 4. I can airplay to the ATV by Iphone.

Problem is that there are no button in the OS X El Capitan.
