Very excited about my new iMac Pro. However, at least once every hour, its new wireless keyboard loses its mind! It repeats characters like crazy, as if a key was being held down. The only way to solve the problem is to turn the keyboard off and on again. Once it re-connects, things are back to normal. It's maddening! Anyone else having this issue? If so, have you fixed it? Thanks!
Update: An Apple tech support rep had me unpair and repair the keyboard (despite it appearing to already have a good connection). That was 3 days ago, and so far, there's been no more crazy keyboard spaz-outs. I'm not quite ready to call the issue solved, but I thought this was worth sharing news. Hoping the issue doesn't resurface. If it does, I'll post soon.

I did buy a 27" iMac in September last year and had exactly the same problem. Sometimes it would register the wrong key, sometimes not type, sometimes behave as though a ghost was trying to message me!
To cut a long story short, they swapped it out for a new keyboard (and even lent me an old one in the interim). Basically they acknowledged that it was broken, I would not accept a repair as it was brand new, and everything worked fine since.
I think there is an issue with the keyboard build, in some cases. I know the Pro has a different colour keyboard, but it may be the same as the ordinary iMac on the inside.
New iMac Pro and same issue. I have noticed it usually starts when cutting and pasting across windows, particularly a browser (chrome) window. I had thought it was an issue with Synergy Pro (v1.8.8) but disabled that and issue continued. Rebooting or turning keyboard on/off is only current solution.
I have had the same problem on three occassions since I got the iMac pro a week ago. Turning the keyboard on and off seemed to solve the problem. The last time it happened was when I had my iPad and Apple pencil close to the keyboard making me think bluetooth interference was the problem.
I have not been able to understand any cause and effect relationship between what I am doing and the keyboard going crazy. If it is a Bluetooth issue, then hooking the keyboard up through the lightening connector USB cable supplied with the iMac Pro should solve the issue. I have only had this happen twice, but should it happen again, I am going to try leaving my keyboard connected via the above USB cable until I need it for charging the mouse or trackpad.

I have had this issue happen twice in the week that I have had my iMac Pro. The only way that I could get typing back to normal was to restart my iMac Pro. I am also having an as yet unresolved issue of two external USB 3 Western Digital hard drives that worked fine on every one of the five Macs that I have not remounting when I wake the iMac Pro from sleep after an hour or so has passed after I put it to sleep. I have been in touch with three different Apple Support individuals. One of them told me it was a Western Digital problem and there was nothing Apple could do. Needless to say, I did not agree with that since on the iMac Pro when I start the iMac Pro up cold or do a restart the two hard drives always mount and I never have an issue with the drives unmounting until I put the computer to sleep for an hour or more and then wake it up. Several times I thought I had solved the issue with a PRAM reset and an SMC reset, but in both cases the external hard drives mounted once when I woke the computer from sleep and then after that the same old problem of not showing up after waking it from sleep reoccurred. I escalated the problem in Apple Support and I am still hopeful that eventually they will come up with a solution.

I've experienced this with my 2013 iMac i7 - it happened maybe 8-10 times over 4 years. Already happened about 4 times in the 24 hours I've had my iMac pro.
So far I'm not impressed with this machine. Performance is not noticeably better than my 2013 iMac, but it's considerably more buggy.
Knock on wood, but so far it hasn't happened since my last post. That said, I had been running my old iMac and wireless keyboard, which I'm no longer doing, so perhaps BT interference was the culprit.
I have this problem too. Currently around once an hour or so it appears to lose connection and then dump a load of repeated keystrokes in where ever my text box is.
I have managed to get it working again by turning the keyboard on and off but it isn't ideal.

I've been having the same problem for years. Tech support had me unpair the keyboard, start and restart the computer, but turning the keyboard off and then back on again is the only thing that solves it for the moment and the next time the iMac wakes from sleep, it's the same old routine. Totally maddening, total waste of time. I'm still looking for answers, too.
I can confirm that I have unpaired the keyboard several times and had the crazy keyboard behaviour come back so it doesn't sound like this is solved to me.
It seems to manifest when I'm copying and pasting as well (primarily Illustrator for me).
