fcpx why does the compound clip change the frame rate?

I have a project set to rec.709 1920x1080p 25p.

when I create a compound clip in the browser and place it in the time line, I get 23.9p as the rate.

if I try to modify the compound clips settings in the inspector I cannot change it in the drop down it only offers that one option 23.9p.

Whats with this?

PROJECT 25p.

You can't change the timebase of the compound clip while there's something in it. When you create the empty compound clip in the browser use custom settings and set the fame rate you want.

that sounds like it.. The first time I made a selection of the photos then CTRL D and made the range 5 frames (to appear for 5 frames each) and converted that selection to a compound clip I had the problem.

This time I opened that new premade compound clip in the browser having already set its frame rate to 25p and pasted in those clips, didnt have that problem anymore.

thanks Tom.
