Macbook Pro has blank screen on startup

When i start my macbook it makes the startup sound and then shows a completely blank screen, never turns on. i try starting it in recovery mode, it seems to not be finding my hard drive (atleast that’s what i think) and i have no back up. so i can’t verify or repair the disk because it’s not finding one. and i can’t redownload the software because it tells me to click which disk and there’s none listed. i want to somehow save all my files even if it means i need to buy a new laptop.

Hi c8miskell!

I understand that your MacBook Pro is starting to a blank screen, and I'm happy to help. If you haven't already, please try performing these two resets on your MacBook Pro:

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

How to reset NVRAM on your Mac

Cheers!
