pulse track reference for additional track/instrument layers?

Is it possible to lay down a pulse track of some type in Logic, (perhaps with the Klopfgeist metranome instrument?), and then go back and record additional tracks using that timing pulse track to control features or tempos in other virtual instruments on different tracks layered in later? Perhaps control an arpeggiator clock or filter sweep or effect, all synced in time with the original pre-recorded pulse? Another user (Cuauhtemoc) suggested using the Modulator MIDI FX out to make this happen. Appreciate any tips you may have about this workflow…. thanks
