Group books into series

Hello, I can not figure out how to group books into a series. If the Apple store recognizes the series it does it automatically for you. However, there are several series which are not recognized by the Apple store. One of which I have is quite lengthy, and thus takes up just an absurd amount of space on my "bookshelf" and gets all out of order as I reopen old books and buy new ones (both related and not). This makes not just each series but the whole shelf just a mess. I would give ANYTHING to be able to edit the metadata, however, I have not yet found a way. I tried using Calibre, and while you can edit series metadata, it still does not show up as a grouping when reimported into iBooks. How do I do this??

Also -- can I put this in as an official feature request with Apple.

Outside of this I love iBooks and have too many notes and highlights in my current books to change platforms and risk losing them. Unless there is a solution which will keep these notes intact?
