8 plus wireless charging trouble

I am attempting to use a wireless charger with 8 plus. At first I assumed it was the charger not the phone. However, I quickly researched and attempted trouble shooting. Have found that a force restart fixes the issue... temporarily. The phone will return to not charging at all or disconnect/ reconnect rapidly. Again a forcerestart fixes this. And the process repeats. I have tried charging at differing battery levels, cords (to the pad), and wall plugs with no change.

I am feeling like this is an apple issue based on the troubleshooting and results.

Others with this issue? Solutions? Please don’t say, take the case off. Yes it is in a case, plenty of people use wireless charges in cases much bigger than mine without issue. (Mine is life proof next- very thin) And isn’t part of the point of wireless charging so you don’t have to remove it???
