iMac won’t boot up after MacOS High Sierra install

After install and during restart this message came up. “mac os could not be installed on your computer Restart or...” my only option was to restart. After 50+ times of restart we finally pressed command+option+P+R. Now it’s giving a totally different screen. Really frustrating. Computer worked fine until I did the update, now I’m regretting it. Kid is blaming me for updating it if it wasn’t necessary and “breaking” the computer. Any help would be great.

It cycles these screens 4 or 5 times then shows the last one before it shuts down.
