I have a Onkyo TX-NR636 and a Samsung TV model UN55JU7500. On my receiver, I have connected a AppleTV 4k at STB/DVD port via HDMI cable. The image and sound works fine, but when I use AppleTV, the receiver on-screen display (OSD) doesn't appear.
Is there a workaround for the receiver's OSD to work with AppleTV?

the appletv send a video and audio stream to the tv and or receiver, it is not able to suppress OSD added later in the process by receivers or the tv itself, the apple tv is obvious to their existence.
Hi rtutihashi. I suspect Apple TV is setting the resolution to a different mode than used by the receiver's settings. Also, it has made an HDCP (encrypted) connection with the TV set. You may need to switch the receiver to a different input, maybe radio, in order to access the settings.
