Iphone 8 on the latest IOS - Hyundai I40
When using CarPlay to make or receive calls, I get complaints that callers can hear themselves echo back. A quick google on the issue shows that it is not a specif car (Brand \ Model) related issue but the iPhone itself.
When making calls using just the Bluetooth the problem goes away.
Anyone else have this issue or a fix ?

I have the same issue with a 2017 Honda Accord. It’s very frustrating. It happens regardless of cable, iPhone (have tried others from my family) and software version. I purchased the car in November of 2016, and initially the issue didn’t occur.
I asked my Honda dealer last time I was in to update the firmware in the unit in the car, and they simply referred me to an 800 Honda phone number.
I’d love to get this fixed. As it stands, I have to disable CarPlay (one of the selection criteria for choosing the Accord)
Please complain to both Honda and Apple so we can get a fix, the less people call, the more isolated it seems and remains low on both their priority lists.
In the meantime, the workaround I found is to go to settings in your iPhone,
Tap on cellular
Tap on Cellular Data options
Where it says Enable LTE, tap on Data only
This now removes the ability for Voice and Data at the same time, but removes the echo.
I am hoping both companies receive many calls so we can get this fixed. From my searches I see Volkswagon and Hyundai cars had the same problem. Volkswagen fixed theirs with a firmware update, and some Hyundai vehicles fixed theirs with a firmware update.
Please post if the workaround fixes it for you.
