Why won't my device show up on iTunes?

I was trying to sync music I downloaded to iTunes on Windows 10 to my iPhone 8 Plus, but my phone didn't show up on the top left corner like it normally did. I checked the version of iTunes I had installed, and I had the latest version on both my computer and my phone. My iPhone is running iOS 11.2.1, and my PC is running iTunes 12.7.2 (I figured that iTunes would automatically update to the latest version with the software update). I know that the USB-Lightning cable and the USB port are not the problem because my computer recognizes my iPhone, and I can transfer photos and video. I want to avoid deleting and reinstalling iTunes on my computer, so please let me know if any other possible solutions exist.

I tried, but I don't have usbaap164.inf or usbaap1.inf in that folder. I have:

usbaap164

usbaap164

usbaap164.sys

usbaaplrc.dll

The first one is a security catalog, the second one is setup information, the third is a system file, and the fourth is an application extension. I tried installing usbaap164.sys, but there was no option to install. Does this mean that I need to install a driver from Apple's website? And if so, where would I find the installation link?

I tried that, but on device manager, after dropping down the menu on Universal Serial Bus Controllers, Apple Mobile USB Driver did not show. I did connect my iPhone to my computer via the USB cable that came with the phone when I bought it. Does this mean there is a problem with my USB? Because I can still access my phone's photos and video with this cable. Is there anything else I can do?
