Does Apple Pay cash expire ?

If a payment expires, then it is returned automatically to your Apple Pay Cash Card balance or payment card, as appropriate.

I too would like to know where the money goes. I sent my friend money on December 30th, and since he never accepted it, it expired on January 6th. However, its been almost 2 full days now and the money is still missing - not in my bank account or on the Apple Pay Cash card. Do I just lose out on the money I sent them..?

I was sent $1.00 as a test and I thought I accepted it but it expired as well not sure if it was returned to the sender yet asking now

The recipient has seven days to accept the payment, after which it is cancelled automatically and the funds are returned to your Apple Pay Cash Card or payment card, as appropriate:

Thanks for the update Jonathan. I think the problem was I did not verify the email or something possibly acceptance of therms and conditions within the Apple Pay info configuration in my wallet. Now it shows that auto accept payments is checked.

Also the send received a message stating the payment was expired and they don’t think the money ever left the payment account.

Originally I thought I accepted the payment. Which is why it was very confusing

I think the key question that is not clear from the document you provided are as follows:

1. If a Apple cash send amount is not accepted does the money ever come out of the payment debit or credit card payment method?

2. If the payment expires where does money go. If it already comes out of the payment card

A transaction I sent to our niece had expired and was already out of my account...so I resent it and the money came out again. Double funds deducted from my account.

It expired 2/24. It's only been a day so I'm hoping that there won't be an issue and it's refunded without problems! I'll be watching! ;)

This happened too. Did a test transaction but friend couldn’t figure out how to accept. It’s now expired but can’t figure out how to get money back.
