AirPods with Windows?
It's pretty easy to pair AirPods with Windows 10 Bluetooth. But after a couple of hours of trying, I am still unable to get Windows playback and recording to work at the same time.
The Airpods are pretty cool. I'd like to keep them. Can someone tell me how to get them to work on, say a Skype call, in the next day or two before I take them back to the Apple store.
From the Sound control Playback tab, I can disconnect the AirPods headphone device and then reconnect it. I can then hear the Windows test signal and play music through the AirPods.
I can do the same in the recording tab to the hands-free headset device and it receives voice from the AirPods mike. But then the headphones stop working.
Sound never comes through the Airpods hands-free headset device no matter what I do.
This is frustrating, because when I place a Skype call to someone, I would like to be able to hear them and speak to them at the same time. Doing just one of those things is what you would call a one-sided conversation.
I tried calling Apple support. The first tech I talked to knew less about Airpods than I did. And I know nothing. So I called back and talked to another tech who knew even less than the first. Also, there's no documention on the AirPods except how to pair them with an Apple device. Only by experimenting did I find a setting to control what they do in response to a double-tap.
