G5 date and time settings problem

Hi. I have a G5 and noticed the date and time settings changing while my computer was in sleep mode. I replaced the internal battery yesterday, and that did not fix the problem. I zapped the PRAM this morning and this doesn't seem to have helped either.

Any one got any suggestions?

G5, Mac OS X (10.4.8), used as NLE system (Caldigit S2VR Duo 500GB, LaCie firewire drive 250 GB, 2 monitors.)

Some things to look at:

Open Time & Date settings:
-Check box: Set date and time automatically
+IF that box is selected and you are connected to the Internet your time is being set by that service.

Click the 'Time Zone' tab:
-Click the part of the world you are near. Then select the city closest to you from the drop-box.

Once that is set the time will sync automatically with Apple. If you do not connect to the internet and zapped the PRam.

Open Firmware has a command called 'time&date' Go into open firmware and type it and see what it says. You can also set the UTC time yourself by typing in 'time&date hh:mm:ss mm/dd/yyyy'

I recommend reading up on time&date more before doing anything in Open Firmware. It is a suggestion I found when having problems with my G4 recently which has no warranty.
