Text messages send / receive showing in reverse order

how do I repair? Just started happening this morning. No updates performed prior to.

iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 11.2.1

Switched airplane mode "on", powered down, waited 2 minutes, powered on, turned airplane mode off.

Works fine now....
