Trying to make a Jeopardy game, having issues

Hi! I'm a teacher and thought a jeopardy would be a fun game for my kids. I downloaded a template which was a .pot file. I used Keynote to edit and change the template to have relevant class content. Once I finished, I clicked one of the questions, to see if it would work. You're supposed to be able to click on a dollar value and which would subsequently lead you to the question of the slide. On my Macbook, the hyperlink didnt work. I saved it as a .ppt file. The smartboards in my classroom are windows, so I was thinking maybe if it didnt work on MY Macbook, it would still work on the smartboard or do I have a bigger issue here? I just want the hyperlink to work?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), iOS 11.2

Opening a Powerpoint file, containing hyperlinks to other slides, in Keynote and then Playing should work fine. I regularly do this work, the client supplies a PowerPoint file containing hyperlinks, I redesign the presentation then export to PowerPoint to play on Windows 10 systems.

What exact version of Keynote and Mac OS are you using?

I used Keynote to edit and change the template to have relevant class content.

It may be these PowerPoint template files do not have active hyperlinks attached,

or you may have removed them in the editing you performed e.g. they may point to a different slide than was originally set.

You can check the hyperlinks as follows:

1 - open the original unaltered powerpoint file in Keynote, do not change anything,

in Edit mode, do the objects that are supposed to have hyperlinks show the curved arrow icon to show an active link is present?

User uploaded file

2 - In Play mode; when hovering the cursor over the object with a link, does it show the pointy hand icon?

User uploaded file

If neither of these are appearing, then no links are present.

Therefore, objects that are supposedly using Hyperlinks that do not work in Keynote on a Mac will not work on a Windows system either.

Try a different template from a different vendor.
