How Long Does it Take for the Different Generations of the iPad to charge?

I have recently been doing quite a bit of research on Apple devices (especially iPads). Here are the charging times:

iPad (1st Gen) 5.5 - 6 Hours

iPad (2nd Gen) 5.5 - 6 Hours

iPad (3rd Gen) 6 - 6.5 Hours (Due to Bigger Battery Capacity)

iPad (4th Gen) 6 - 6.5 Hours

iPad Air (1st Gen Air) 6 - 6.5 Hours

iPad Air 2 (2nd Gen Air) 5 - 5.5 Hours (Smaller battery than iPad air by 1,000 mAh but same battery life)

iPad Pro 9.7 (1st Gen iPad Pro 9.7) 6 - 6.5 Hours

iPad Pro 12.9 (1st Gen iPad Pro 12.9) 8 - 8.5 Hours

iPad Pro 9.7 (2nd Gen iPad Pro 9.7) 6 - 6.5 Hours

iPad Pro 12.9 (2nd Gen iPad Pro 12.9) 8 - 8.5 Hours

iPad (2017) 6.5 - 7 Hours

iPad Mini (1st Gen) 5 - 5.5 Hours

iPad Mini (2nd Gen) 5 - 5.5 Hours

iPad Mini (3rd Gen) 5 - 5.5 Hours

iPad Mini (4th Gen) 4.5 - 5 Hours (Smaller battery but the same battery life)

Theres a small chart on all of the iPad's battery lives!

Charging time depends upon the depletion state of the battery at the beginning of charging, the age and condition of the battery, the power supply used, even the temperature at the time of charging. And it is not constant - it will vary as the battery ages and accumulates cycles.

So stating ”a” charging time for a device is somewhat meaningless. At best, you can give a rough ballpark figure and nothing more.

Can’t say I trust any of your own observations.

How have you collected this data?

My iPad 2 and 3 models from 0 to 100% take only 4-5 hours to charge.

My iPad 2 and 3 models from 20-25% only takes about 4 hours to charge.

My 1st gen 12.9 inch iPad Pro DOES NOT take 8-8-1/2 to charge.

From 5% to 100% my 12.9 inch screen ONLY takes between 5-6 hrs.
