Why am I not able to burn cd's any longer? The cd player will read a cd and play it, but I continue to get the same error message 0x80004005 and have had to throw away many cd's trying to figure this out. Very frustrating!!

You could also try burning at 1x or 2x which has worked for some.

Thank you so much! I chose the second option because I don't consider myself proficient enough to handle what may come with uninstalling and reinstalling a different version. It worked! It matters not that it takes longer, so I truly appreciate your suggestions. I may eventually try your first suggestion if apple doesn't come up with an easier fix. Thank you!!
iTunes 12.7.3.46 for Windows has been released which appears to burn CDs normally.
