What File System Is My Mac Currently Using

I upgraded the OS from OS X El Capitan to macOS High Sierra using the App Store.

So, what file system is my Mac now using? HFS+ or the new APFS?

If my Mac is currently using the HFS+, does that mean my Mac will run better if I reinstall the OS for my Mac since it'll be formatted in APFS?
