New AirPort Extreme N: Windows XP only?

Our home network presently uses a Belkin G router connecting two G4 Macs and four Windows machines. Two of the Windows machines run XP, one is Windows 2000, and the other is running Windows 98SE. The Windows 98SE machine will soon be gone and is not an issue. However, the Windows 2000 machine will remain part of the network.

We have discovered that our Belkin router has serious security issues that will probably never get rectified by Belkin. Due to the security issues, we are considering replacing the Belkin router with one of the new AirPort Extreme N routers. Reading the specs of the new AE router, Windows compatibility is listed for only Windows XP. This is a deal breaker for us, since our one Windows 2000 machine is not going to run XP. Does anyone have any idea whether a Windows 2000 machine will be able to network using the new AirPort Extreme N routers even though the specs do not specifically mention Windows 2000 as compatible?

G4's, G3's, etc. Mac OS X (10.4.8)

It should be fine for connecting to an Airport
wireless network wirelessly.

You just won't be able to administer the base
station, just use one of your Macs for that.

Thank you for the quick reply. This is good news, as the Windows 2000 machine is used by a teenager whom we do not want to access the router settings anyway. 😉

I am guessing that the existing Windows 98SE machine would fall into the same category as the 2000 machine, i.e., it would connect but not be able to administer router settings. This is also good for us.

Thanks again for the help.
