Scams taking advantage of a bad Apple

There seems to be a lot of confusion out in musicland about what is Apple Music, and what is ITunes.... Are they one in the same? Is ITunes just one option under Apple Music? Are there two separate Apps, thus bills due from each?

Ive recently fallen into a scam that has used this confusion to steal money. As a retired US Marine Spec-Ops Guy, I admit I’m not very computer savvy in the Civilian world, but I am very security hip, and these Cats still got me for $12.99.

Not the National Treasury, ( there would be a minus sign and 20 zeros), but it’s the point. I was told I could try out this new App called Apple Music, which was more encompassing, better this and faster that, for 3 months for free. At that point I could keep the new and replace my ITunes, or disregard the new App. As soon as I pushed “try for 3 months free” my music went crazy and basically my ITunes went away and I was to select a new playlist, artists, genre,etc... looked legit to me. It also asked if I wanted to keep my ITunes collection, to that, of course, I said yes.

This morning I had an email and a receipt where they had gone into my info Apple had as if I purchased the ghost App. I’ve written to Apple, ITunes Support, now the community, and nobody has a clue.... So...one more time, does anybody know about this or confused by Apple’s music labels?

iTunes and Apple Music are two separate things, iTunes lets you buy (and keep) music, films etc., Apple Music is a music subscription service and lets you download music from Apple Music (end the subscription and you lose access to anything that you've downloaded from it).

This morning I had an email and a receipt where they had gone into my info Apple had as if I purchased the ghost App.

? Who are 'they' and what is 'the ghost app' ?

That's who I was trying to find out ? It appears I got duped and didn't understand the difference or it appeared new to me, but I haven't seen the presentation that way!

I still think that your Explaination should be clearly stated on both items so knuckle draggers like me know upfront what Apple delivers in music and all other " packages" need to be checked out with Apple.

Thanks for your help and Explaination of the two Apple music items. I still have to find out how my account was hacked and I paid for ITunes again.

I also have to see if Apple will make this right and just put me back on my previous track plus credit my account for monies drawn automatically from my account without my consent, credit card number or account confirmation???
