You cannot install iOS on a Mac, so exactly what did you do and what did you install? Exactly which MBP model to you have? To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities' folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right. You will also find the complete model information by selecting About This Mac from the Apple menu. What version of macOS was installed on the computer?

As Kappy has already explained to you iOS doesn't run on Macs. The operating system on a Mac is macOS instead.

As it currently stands, you not provided enough information for us to even guess what is going on.

If you go to the App Store on your Mac, there should be an update there for macOS 10.13.2.

This includes fixes for Meltdown and Spectre and is highly recommended.

Does the disk drive appear in Disk Utility?

From your original post, it sounds like it is dead.

Hopefully you have a backup. If not everything will most likely be gone.

I was kind of confused. I thought maybe the OP was talking about an iOS update through iTunes.
