how to redirect App Store to my Mac server

Hi,

I set-up a Mac Server 5.4 on a Mac Pro (Late 2013), 3.7GHz Quad-Core Xeon E5, 12GB of memory, version 10.13.2. I'm receiving all the software update with no issues on my Mac Server. The problem is:

How can I redirect the App Store from my device like my MacBook Pro to get the software update from my Mac Server? The Mac Book Pro is a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5, version 10.13.2.

Is there a terminal command to do this?

Please advise.

I included lcdn-locator.apple.com in Systems Preferences>Networks>Advanced>Proxies>Bypass proxies settings for these Hosts & Domains on booth MacBook Pro and Mac Server. Reboot.

I ran this command found on the Web:

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL http://myservername:8088/index.sucatalog

Reboot

I ran again:

I have the same error as before but it found 1 server.

When I lunched App store, it loaded faster and all the images were there but when I clicked on Update I had the error message:

This still indicates that there is an HTTPS proxy intercepting connections to lcdn-locator.apple.com. Unless you bypass that, your computer will never use your content cache.

This is my set-up for my Mac Server:

The cache location is on the hard drive, storage used: 194MB and Cache size is unlimited.

When I was able to ping my Mac Server from the MacBook Pro and I also did a nslookup and the Mac Server is register to the DNS.

Any suggestions?

The CFNetwork errors 310 and 311 indicate that you have an HTTPS proxy between your MacBook Pro and the Internet that is preventing content caching from working. Can you bypass that proxy for lcdn-locator.apple.com?

I forgot to mention the Mac Server and the MacBook Pro are bind to our domain and I'm able to see them in Active Directory.

On your Mac Pro, launch System Preferences, select Sharing, and turn on Content Caching. (Click on the ? in the corner there to learn more about content caching.)

Then either reboot your MacBook Pro, or launch Terminal on it and run AssetCacheLocatorUtil.
