Charging a Motorola RAZR (V3m)

If I install Sprint's XP only modem pack, my XP box will charge my RAZR.

The Mac won't. The phone says "data cable connected" but never charges.

It needs 500 mA to charge. The USB standard starts at 100 mA but needs a software request to ramp up. Without drivers, the request never comes.

Anyone figure a hack to make my MacBook charge this sucker? (Yeah, I could run XP in Parallels, but now I run Win2K and I don't want to pay the XP license. Besides, that's annoying.)

Sprint/Motorola are campaigning to sell me an Apple iPhone ...

G5 iMac 20, Mac OS X (10.4.8), MacBook Core-2 Duo, G3 iBook, Mac mini
