Cannot stop double sided printing Epson 4550

First I don’t recommend this printer for an Apple system but...

Since High Sierra my printer only types double sided. The advanced options link is no longer part of the printer menu. I’m at my wits end. I just want a simple printer and there’s not many more primitive than this but I need the bare minimum of control. I tried Epson to no avail. Apple only sends me to download the latest (years old driver) which I have numerous times. The option is just no longer there. I hope someone has a solution.

Never mind. After many many dead ends, I was able to get chat support from Apple and learned that the printer driver that they said to select using wireless was the wrong one (Bonjour) instead of TCPIP. Once I chose the latter I had control again.

Man I spent hours on trying to solve this. What a relief. Such things literally make me depressed but its so great to have a solution.
