How long does it take for extra iCloud storage to become available?

If all showed that you processed the upgrade and purchase, it should go through right away.

Try force restarting your device and see if the upgraded storage amount shows

If not, you can always contact Apple support to help and/or reassure all is well and if not, how to fix it :)
