I need to record a business presentation. What is the maximum length of a single video I can record on my 128gb iPad?

It all depends on how much open space you have, what quality you record at and how long your battery lasts.

I would suggest a test....set your device up and have it record video for 10 minutes. See how much your battery goes down and if you check the memory taken up in your camera roll before then after you can get an idea how big the file is. Or if you export it off the ipad you also get an idea how large the file is.

You can do the math and guess from there.

One hurdle you may wish to consider, long video files are normally huge in file size. You will need to get that file off the ipad. You may simply be able to plug the ipad into a computer, tell it to trust the computer and drag it out of the DCIM folder using the explorer on your computer. Just be prepared to deal with a file that may be several gigs in size. (I don’t know how long this meeting is but using normal video cameras I have seen HD video be a gig a minute to several hundred megs a minute, depends on the formal recorded in and the compression the recorder uses)

Thanks for your advice. The pres is supposed to last around 30 mins. It will be a one-off Plan B in case I have connectivity issues on the day (I’m overseas). So I don’t want to invest in specialist kit, but sometimes it drops out after a minute or two.

As you say, my next concern is getting it off the iPad to the other party. Maybe I’m over-simplifying the task (out of ignorance).
