I would like to connect my Windows 10 tablet pc to my iMac 27in (late 2012) using USB-C to Thunderbolt adapter and use my iMac as a second screen for my PC.
My Windows 10 PC has USB-C ports and my iMac has Thunderbolt ports.
My iMac supports Target Display Mode, but Apples support website states it works with MacBooks. Does not list PCs.
Will this work?

The short answer is no it will not work, your question is very common and the answer is always the same. Your best bet is to get an external display for your PC.
TDM only works Mac to Mac. Here is Apple's article showing even the limitations on that policy, like newer iMacs not supporting TDM:

Windows machines do not support Target Display Mode.
