How to partition ExFat external hard drive

Hi there,

I have asked a question on here before about partitioning hard drives and the advice worked. However, the problem came when I needed to transfer data from the hard drives to a windows based computer from my mac. Because I had my hard drive formatted to Mac OS Journaled it obviously wouldn't work due to the different file system structures. I erased the hard drive and formatted it to ExFat to be used on both systems. However, my mac will not allow me to partition the drive when it is formatted as ExFat. There surely has to be a way to do this other than using only using Mac OS journaled format.

Any help would be much appreciated
