iOS was already immune to Meltdown due to the processor architecture. And a Spectre patch was also in the works, but news of these two vulnerabilities leaked out prior to the official announcement date. Manufacturers have known about both vulnerabilities for over 6 months.
Very much appreciate your response. Is an update in the works to address as well? Both sound like a potential disaster for every device on the planet, but it is hard to find much being written about the dimensions of the problem.
