New iCloud Terms and Conditions

Hello! I just got a new iPad Pro and am almost done setting it up. I have other iOS products and have not run into this before: I am trying to accept "New iCloud Terms and Conditions" but it just hangs - the little spinning circle thing just keeps spinning. The first time I tried, it just got caught in a loop of telling me to Accept, I would Accept, and then it would ask me to Accept again. So I closed everything and restarted, and now I just get the spinning circle thing on Terms and Conditions. (See my not-great photo.)

Any ideas how to get it to show me the T&C and how to get it to accept my acceptance? Thank you!

In case anyone is looking for this info, I did call Apple, since I was on Apple Care. We had to do a Restore to Factory Settings on the iPad, which worked. See: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Be sure to back up your iPad to iTunes before doing this. You will be resetting everything as if your iPad is brand new, and then downloading a backup to bring your iPad up to date with all your personal info and downloaded apps. (I didn't make sure I had a recent backup, and the Apple specialist, who was otherwise superb, forgot to mention it. My oldest backup was a month prior, from my older iPad, so I did lose a little bit of information, but it was no big deal. But it could be a big deal if you have never backed up to iTunes, for example.)

It is time consuming so give yourself plenty of time. It involves a long erasure of info on your device, plus downloading and installing recent iOs updates, plus updating from your backup. If your internet connection is slow (you will use this for iOs updates), it can take many hours. You will still have things to input even after your backup is installed, such as Wallet info. But it worked.

Try resetting the device to see if the issue gets resolved: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them both down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Lock Screen displays, try signing into iCloud again to see if the issue has resolved itself.

You may also be able to accept the new T&C via a computer by signing into iCloud there.

First, try just closing the app altogether by double-clicking the Home button, then sliding up on all of the thumbnails until all the apps are closed. Then try again to see if it works.

If it doesn't, I would recommend that you try resetting your router (turn it off and back on again), and also resetting your Network Settings on your device. You will have to sign back into your Wifi network again after it picks up the connection and you select it, but that may clear up the issues.

Thank you for the response! This problem is ridiculously persistent. I told it to Forget the Network, shut off wifi, shut all apps, turned off and restarted router, fully shut off and restarted iPad, turned on wifi and signed back into the network ... and it still won't accept my acceptance of the T&C. It's not hanging anymore, but it just doesn't acknowledge that I did accept the T&C. I really appreciate all the help, though. I guess it is time to call Apple. 😐
