"Photos" Book image brightness control???

Is there a way to make the images on a Mac "Photos" book look like they do on the screen? In the past the images in my books are quite a bit darker. Obviously not being back lit like a screen is a major factor, but is there a smart measurable way to make them as close as possible? Thanks-M

What color profile are the photos? They should be sRGB - If you use Adobe RGB they will be much darker

In addition to Larry's warnings about AdobeRGB, the only way is to edit the photo and use the Enhance tool and/or these tools in the Adjust mode and make them brighter than they would normally look on screen:
