The screen isn't likely scratched. But the Oleophobic coating likely is. Even in a pocket, there could be small particles of grit, which with movement/rubbing could have scratched the coating on your phone. I'd go to your Apple Store right away and have them install a Belkin Screen protector on your phone. It will hide the scratches and better protect your valuable screen. Then put it in a case that also covers your phones face when not in use. I'm fond of clip cases and here's what I use, which is really reasonably priced on Amazon.
