Gradually reduce speed until freeze frame

Hello,

I'm trying to create a video, where I have a clip I want to gradually reduce in speed, until it's very slow. I guess something like the velocity in Sony Vegas. The problem is, I have no idea how to do it.

How would I go about gradually reducing the speed? Would I really have to split the clip into a bunch of clips, and then reduce the speed of each clip more and more? Or is there another way?

Thank you,

Jakob

You can make only one range selection at a time in a single clip. You can do three steps by selecting the range for the second step. Then click on the watch face in the tool bar and select custom. Make a percentage change which will retime the range selection of the clip but you will see on the clip a speed adjustment button at the top of the clip for each section of the clip so you can set as desired.
