I have a video of my grand daughter and wanted one frame as a photo. I played video. stopped it a the frame I wanted then pushed command shift 3 and captured a screen shot but now can't move it into an album. Can anyone help?
I'm glad you got your screenshot. And you are very welcome to ask your questions here, Debbie. We all have been beginners once.
If you imported the videos to the Photos.app you can also save selected still frames to the Pictures folder, when you open the video in Photos: While viewing the video, click the gears icon in the video controlas and select "Save frame to Pictures". You will find the saved image file in the Pictures folder.
Are you seeing the screenshot in the Finder? Then drag it onto the Photos iconic the Dock to import it to Photos.
Once the photo is in Photos you should be seeing it at the bottom of the Last Import album (or Imports in Photos 3.0).
Drag it from there to the album in the sidebar.
Or are you asking about importing to iPhoto? The title of your question says "Photos", but in the text you are referring to iPhoto, so I am not sure which application you are using.
Screenshots are normally stored on the Desktop so, open Finder > Desktop > find screenshot > drag to Photos on the Dock.
Hey! Thanks for your prompt reply. Honestly, I don't know enough about computers to even be on this forum. My pictures on my mac used to be called iphotos, but now the bottom bar calls them just photos, instead. Not sure why it changed. But the good news is - my screen capture is now in my photos! - not sure how it happened . When I clicked command-shift 3 it captured the frame but wouldn't let me work with it . Then I read in "help" to push command -shift- 4 and after doing that was able to select the part of the picture I wanted to save. After that I was able to edit, add to album etc. It's a mystery! I think I'd better quit while I'm ahead, and just create my photo book from my photos and not try to go into my videos (of my granddaughter) and try to capture individual frames.
