Apple TV remote won't scroll down

While on Apple TV home screen, with Settings highlighted, press the Menu key of your remote quickly 3x. It took a couple of tries, but FINALLY the annoying voice-over was disabled And I was able to scroll down again in "Settings"

How did you restart the ATV?

I have the exact problem on my ATV 4, but neither of my ATV4Ks.

I’m usually able to temporarily solve the problem by holding down the left hand side top & bottom buttons for 7seconds then letting off both buttons and letting it reboot. Just to be clear, the two buttons are the play/pause button and the menu button.

I found that by turning off the Voiceover option, it fixed everything. I cannot explain why, but this happened to me and as soon as I turned it off, all the lagging and scrolling problems disappeared.

Turn general-accessibility-voiceover on and off again solves the problem immediately.

I have been having this issue as well. We would end up charging the remote and using the app remote on our phones and it would always still work. Just recently too we’ve been having to restart ours because it is being weird about coming on. So I just did a factory reset and now my search bar voice dictation isn’t working. I really hope it’s not what you say either with the newer version out. But anytime our remote doesn’t work, I just bust the app out.

Try reseting the Apple TV.

I’m having the same issue as the original question. I have tried everything on here except this but I cannot get my remote on my phone or original to scroll down to click accessibility!

This happened to me. I had tried every way to fix it. This went on for 4 days then I randomly updated my phone to iOS 11.3 and BAM !

Did you ever get a resolution? Having the exact same problem. "Samantha" (the voice) is driving us nuts! And we can't scroll down to click accessibility to turn off her voice either!

Check to see if your iPhone needs updated. I randomly updated mine and all of a sudden everything was normal.
