"No network detected" on Apple TV 4K

Hi all,

I just got an Apple TV 4K and have connected it to my WiFi network, as I did before with my previous Apple TV (which I bought like 4yrs ago and was not 4K capable).

I am constantly geting pop-ups showing the message "No network detected" and this is ******* me off. I never had such a problem with the old Apple TV.

I have found threads in the forum where other users complain about the same issue, but there's not a clear answer on how to solve it (at least, I haven't been able to find the solution).

One of the comments says that the WiFi security has to be configured as WPA2-AES, which is my case.

Please, support me. This problem is getting me on my nerves.

By the way, the distance between the WiFi router and the Apple TV is around 3 or 4 meters, so this cannot be the root cause of the problem.

Best regards,

Pablo

I am no expert on any of these issues. However, I will not quit on anything and spend a lot of time and in some cases money on issues. The problem with being unable to connect to the WIFI on my APPLE TV 4K was very frustrating to say the least. However, a recent call to Apple Support, may have been the most informative call and outcome on this issue to date. The support person investigated a number of issues and found that the WiFi router I was using was "Too" old and obsolete. Like putting a Tuxedo on a Pig? It was over 5 years old and had a "G" rating. Not sure about all of that info, but it was suggested to procure a new router and I did so. The Best Buy reps. suggested purchasing the NetGear55 over the Apple AirPort Extreme. Went with the NetGear. Had some issues ( Passwords !!!??? ) with the installation of the new NetGear55 ( 2.4 and 5.0 GHZ ). However, got through all of that and finally have been able to connect to the AppleTV 4k, with no problems so far. Using the 5.0 GHZ part of the router. Crossing my fingers. I am not inferring that my ( Hopefully ) fix is a cure all but so far it has worked for myself. Hope this information may help others in some way.👍😎

I have had some luck it seems 🙂 After switching everything off and having had a cup of tea i decided to check through the apple tv settings menus.

In there (and i can't remember where) is an option to set the apple tv settings to suit your tv. I pressed it and it seems it has adjusted settings through the apple tv - Everything now works, I no longer lose the network, and have had no problems since. I m using a smart LG tv btw.

Was really finding this frustrating, persevere and i hope you will all be rewarded.

Apple c'mon help these folks out a little more please?

This JUST started happening to me last night Jan 14th, 2018.

Sorry if this was a repost.

WiFi works fine and stuff plays fine. But occasionally, streaming does in fact stop. Pressing play and ignoring the "No network found." message works fine.

My Apple TV 4K has been working flawlessly for months. I'm sure it's a new bug or patch bugaybe issued for the Meltdown or Spectra stuff.

WTH!!! Getting the same S..T. Thought it might be the HDMI cable, new BTW. Changed the to the old HDMI cable ( Yesterday ) and it looked like the problem was resolved. Not so! Again today, while switching to Apple TV, I can get the same "error" message you folks are getting! And, looks like my Apple TV remote freezes up and I can't scroll. Getting a pop-up stating that "Remote Connection Lost" and then goes back to "Remote Connected" but still can't maneuver with the remote. Very frustrated with this product, right now!!
