Cost to replace Top Case?

Hi all,

Has anyone had experience getting their top case of a MacBook Pro replaced out of warranty and how much it might cost with parts and labor?

My MacBook Pro Touchbar Late 2016, took some recent scratches, and when the time comes to sell my laptop, I want it to be emaculate, so I'm wondering what it might cost to just replace that top case, so the scratches go away.

The best way to find out is to take it to an AASP and get a quote - Apple does not accept responsibility for cosmetic damage; however, if it is out of warranty and you're willing to pay for it, they may make an exception. An AASP may have a less costly offer. We can't give you an estimate as we are all just other users and have no access to Apple's databases or policies.

iFixit doesn't have either the 13" or 15" top case in stock. They would only have used ones in working condition, so it sounds like there haven't been enough salvaged parts to stock it. A used one would likely have at least keys that look slightly polished from use.

I don't know if Apple will replace it for cosmetic issues. There's a lot that can go wrong taking it apart.
