Good description of the feet most makes of laptops appear to have fitted with now. I have always placed a thin rubber mat, bought from the local supermarket, on the work surface that the laptop feet can adhere to, especially polished wooden tables in hotels. I view this as a necessary purchase, just as buying a mouse and mat are essential accessories also.
The issue with the rubber feet is that they adhere to the bottom case of the MacBooks. The glue, over time, would deteriorate and fall off. With the newer feet, they are supposed to stay adhered for a much longer time. I think that's why they moved away from the rubber ones.
What troubles me is that apple doesn’t see this as an issue... especially with such a simple fix, make the feet rubber. Ludicrous how expensive these laptops are when my old $200 asus laptop did not have this problem, by having simple rubber feet.
