can't play videos on Quicktime on MacBook Pro

I am unable to play videos on Quicktime 10.3 that I have played previously. I am also unable to play videos on Facebook and Youtube. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash and have the up to date version. The problem with playing videos seems to have taken place after installing Google Chrome, but not sure if it is related. I have uninstalled Google Chrome and the problem persists. Thanks for your help with this.

Hey roscoej,

It seems that you haven't gotten a response to your post. Providing the following pieces of info may help others provide an answer for this.

- What happens when you attempt to watch a video using Facebook and YouTube?
- Are you getting error messages when attempting to play videos?
- What other steps have you tried besides removing Google Chrome?

Hey roscoej,

Got it. Base on the info you've provided, what I'd suggest next is to see if you're able to view these videos while using in safe mode. This article explains this process in more detail. Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac If you're still unable to view these videos, we'll want to isolate this further by testing in another user account. How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Reply with the results and we'll look into this further.

Thanks Mario. When I attempt to play a videos on Youtube, the white circle with the arrow keeps spinning in a circle and the video never loads. No error message whatsoever. When I try and play a .mov file the spinning beach ball keeps spinning until I force quit. No error message.


I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash.
