Apple Software Updater Problem

When I try to run Apple Software Updater on my PC I get the message: Problem with short cut the parameter is incorrect.

Windows 7 SP1. Apple 12.7.2.60. How can this be corrected.

Delete the shortcut and then repair Apple Software Update from the programs and features control panel.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Right-click on the setup file and run the installer as administrator. It may also help to temporarily disable any non-Microsoft anti-virus software while installing.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

I did as requested The only problem was it couldn't uninstall iTunes. So I continued and uninstalled everything else and deleted all the folders. I also ran registry cleaners and went as far as using OCRegedit to remove all entries. Then did a install everything looked fine until the end and I get the message: The older version of iTunes cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. Do you have an iTunes removal tool.
