Blinking Light on 4th Gen Apple TV

Our 4th Gen Apple TV's light won't start blinking. I used the remote to try to restart it but it doesn't restart. I also bought a micro USB cable to connect the Apple TV to my Mac. The light continued to blink and it was not recognized by iTunes. Am I to assume that my Apple TV is beyond repair?

Yes. The continuous blinking indicates that it is failing to boot. I expect because there is an error loading the software from the flash storage that holds it. You need to reload the software, as described in the link I posted. The order of connecting to computer and applying power is crucial. If that doesn't work, try taking it to an Apple store for diagnosis. Make an appointment.

HI Diana. I did try to use the remote to restart as well as connect the Apple TV to my mac. Neither restart method worked. I noticed that when I used the remote, the light did blink quickly during the restart process but then the light continued to blink afterwards. It just seems that the Apple TV is resisting a reboot. Note, the Apple TV was working fine last night.
